California Musical Theatre (Broadway Sacramento, Music Circus)

uses volunteers for:

Music Circus production crew.
Lounge hosts and hostesses.
Clerical, mailing and data entry assistants.

For backstage volunteers, you are invited to sign up for as many productions as your schedule allows. Please keep in mind that commitment to a production requires attendance at all performances and rehearsals.

Capital Stage

There are many ways individuals and businesses can contribute to the development of this bold, non-profit, professional theatre. Currently, Capital Stage is seeking the following volunteer assistance:

Theatre Ushers
Ushers greet patrons at the door, hand out programs, help them find their seat and assist the house manager to make the audience feel comfortable. Ushers normally arrive at the theatre one hour before a show to prepare the house and stay until the theatre has been cleared of all patrons. Ushers are given complimentary seats to the performance, based on availability.

Marketing
Professional marketing experience is requested for this volunteer position. Currently seeking volunteers who can commitment to a 6-week volunteer position at approximately 5 hours per week.

Graphics
A variety of needs for graphic skills including playbill design, email promotions, poster art, and more. Graphics volunteers can commit to one short-term project or volunteer on an on-going basis.

Bookkeeping/Accounting
This volunteer will have experience in the field and work approximately 3 hours per week on projects in coordination with the Managing Director.

Photographer
Experience in photography and your own camera is necessary for this position. Skills in still photography for capturing moments on stage during dress rehearsals or at special events to be used on website, playbills, brochures, in local newspapers, and kept in archives as part of Capital Stage history.

Carpenter/Electrician/Painter
If you have experience in any of these areas, the Technical Director will assign you a project that is a specific match for your skills and availability.

Costumes
Volunteers with basic seamstress skills are needed to assist our costume designers on the costume build and maintenance. Specific projects and time commitments vary depending on the production.

Flexible Contract Opportunities / Immediate Openings / 18 & Over

Fairytale Town is seeking creative, energetic and enthusiastic Theatre Arts students for their Intern Program. Interns will assist with the season of the Fairytale Town Troupers, an in-house children’s repertory company & costumed talent training facility open to young people 18 years of age and under. Interns will work closely with the Artistic Director, John Lee, performing event-specific duties as required per the Intern’s individual strengths.


Applicants for the Intern Program:

Must be 18 years of age or older and have reliable transportation.
Must be willing to sign contract and submit to background check.
Must be able to pass official CA Volunteer Training Requirements.

Since 1987, the Arts & Business Council of Sacramento has promoted mutually beneficial partnerships between businesses and arts groups. Through its programs the Council brings expertise, resources and leadership talent from the business world to the arts community. Businesses benefit through meaningful volunteer opportunities for employees, improved access to arts resources and the opportunity to be a part of a community enhanced by the presence of a vibrant arts sector.

Business Volunteers for the Arts provides pro bono business consultants to arts and cultural organizations for short-term projects in such areas as human resources, organizational development, marketing, accounting, graphic design and legal consultations. Partnerships developed through the program keep the arts in business by combining the expertise, resources and skills of the business world with the artistic talent of the multitude of arts and cultural organizations in the Sacramento region.
